Oprah Winfrey’s dog, Sophie, died after a year-long battle with kidney troubles. This is the second dog she has lost in less than a year (her Golden Retriever, Gracie, died last May).
I feel bad for her since she doesn’t have children and has often described her pets as her babies. Sophie was 12 years old.

I was so saddened to hear about Oprah’s dog Sophie’s death and so soon after she lost her sweet puppy Gracie. Being both an animal lover and Oprah fan, I empathize so deeply and wish there were words of comfort I could convey, as I shed tears for her. I have to believe that we will see our precious pets again at Rainbow Bridge after we cross over ourselves and are reunited with them. It’s the only way I am able to get thru the loss of my own pets.

No one knows unless they’ve been there. My heart goes out to you Oprah on both of your great losses…Sophie and Gracie. My babies too are my dogs. I would like to give you a gift I give to people close to me. I am an award winning watercolor artist. I take commissions as part of my livlihood. I am good.(painting both people and animals) As a gift to you I would feel honored if you would allow me to paint a portrait of you and your two ‘late’ babies. I would need good photos of course to work from and I would be more than happy to e-mail to you my address or you could e-mail me some good pictures with an address to send the finished painting to. it is just devastating to hear that oprah has lost two dogs in under a year. i know they both felt how much she loved. i have not been able to get over losing my sweetheart cat and can only hope we will be reunited on the rainbow bridge.
